The Wright Brothers' Evolution
The Wright's design process was evolutionary. Each aircraft's design was developed from the previous one, starting with the 1899 kite. The Wright Experience will build all of the Wrights' machines from the 1899 kite through the Model "B", their first production aircraft.

In Progress: Propellers

We have constructed a suite of Wright propellers that represents the major milestones in the Wrights' development of the aerial propeller. Each has been tested and their performances match those of the Wrights. For more, please visit our feature, "In Depth: The Propeller".

Langley, Maxim, Whitehead Propellers: We are preparing to produce reproductions of three of the Wrights' rivals—Samuel Pierpont Langley, Sir Hiram Maxim, and Gustav Whitehead—to compare their propellers performance with those of the Wrights. For more, please download the Discovery of Flight Foundation Propeller Prospectus (.pdf file approx. 350K).
